Introducing Raid Canopy
After years of manufacturing ute canopies, IRONMAN 4X4 has been monitoring trends and customer needs, which has led to the development of a ground-up, patented new metal 4x4 ute canopy.
Following consistent design cues from our Raid bar, the Raid Canopy is as aesthetic as it is practical, and, a very affordable canopy solution.
The Aluminium Advantage
Fibreglass and ABS Canopies have long been considered the pinnacle of ‘style side’ ute canopies with their colour-matched, over-sill integration and automotive-styled windows.
While refined in their integration, these canopies can not match the strength and practicality of our Raid aluminium canopy.
Stronger
The Raid Canopy has a unique design. The braced roof panel forms the keystone, which creates a structural core for the four perimeter walls to attach to.
The overall structural design and use of aluminium offers the Raid Canopy a stunning 180kg dynamic roof load limit.
Further, each Raid Canopy has been engineered to include a vehicle-specific tub strengthening bracket, to ensure that the vehicle’s tub is not compromised with the improved load-carrying capacity.
The increased roof-load limit is a huge advantage for tradies and camping enthusiasts who enjoy a quality rooftop tent and awning set-up.
Lighter
Despite a hugely improved load limit, the average Raid Canopy weighs in at just 65kgs.
Improved access
The strength of aluminium also allows for greater flexibility in design elements such as side access.
Because the front and rear pillars can be reduced in size, the windows/side doors can be increased in width and height, providing far greater access.
A set-up that suits
While glass side and rear windows remain an option for the Raid Canopy, IRONMAN 4X4 offers a trade pack that replaces the glass with aluminium panels for an even more secure set-up.
Thanks to the canopy's overall look, the aluminium side and rear doors complement it perfectly.
Integrated roof rails
The aluminium construction has also been used to house integrated roof rails allowing for direct, low-profile fitment of Raid cross bars, perfect for mounting rooftop tents, awnings, solar panels, recovery tracks and more.

We’ve tested the Raid Canopy beyond its limits, and know that its durability is fit for the harshest adventure.
Practicality is more about the details, and we’ve spent some time in the design phase to ensure we have a smart-looking, smart operating canopy suitable for work and play.
Pressure vent
A pressure vent is built into the roof to pressurise the canopy and reduce dust.
It is important to note, that ute tubs have multiple air gaps that suck in dust, from drain holes to tailgate gaps.
A pressure vent is a good way to help minimise the dust ingress off-road.
Hinges and locks
There’s nothing worse than having water fall through the top edge of a canopy window into the canopy or onto yourself.
Not only have we incorporated a built-in gutter system along all hinges, our hinges are also made from Outback-ready aluminium billet supported by dual gas-struts.
The Raid Canopy features renowned Southco locks, giving you peace of mind.
Semi-framed glass
To ensure your canopy glass remains strong, we’ve done more than just use tempered automotive glass; we’ve also built in a hidden support structure, giving your canopy a framless look with the robust design and support of an aluminium frame.
Watertight
The Raid Canopy's roof design ensures that once assembled correctly and properly sealed, water will be kept where it belongs: on the outside of your vehicle.
Additionally, precision alignment on the thick window and door rubbers means that when closed, water and dust will be kept at bay.
Fitment
The Raid Canopy is attached to structural points in the tub and sealed with a silicone filler. There is no additional drilling, and in most cases, the canopy does not require a clamp system.
While utilising these existing points, we have also increased the overall durability of the solution with vehicle-specific tub-strengthening brackets.

The Raid Canopy is the perfect canvas for customising and accessorising. With a huge range of additional accessories in development, we are just getting started.
Window & door grid plates
Our Raid Security Grids are an optional extra for both glass and aluminium panel doors.
The Grid Plates offer an additional level of security on glass windows and doors and additional storage functionality to attach things such as tyre deflators and torches.
Glass or solid windows & doors
Opt for the 'Trade Pack’, which features solid aluminium doors and windows for optimal security, or elect for a glass finish on all windows and doors for optimal viewing, internal light, and a more integrated finish.
Dog ready
If you’re travelling with a furry friend, the port window door option on the Raid Canopy is perfect for allowing fresh air to your mate in the back.
Load up
Whether you’re transporting timber, or looking for a solid platform to load your rooftop tent, awning or solar panels, our low-profile Raid Load Bars can be mounted from two to ten rails to suit your needs. Each rail is rated at 25kg per rail.
Tested beyond its limits
We found its limits, so you don’t have to.
During the engineering process of developing the Raid Canopy, we undertook the most invasive lifetime endurance testing of its kind. We utilised intense and continuous lab testing to simulate some of the harshest offroad and Outback conditions.
Temperature test
Extreme temperatures can really affect elements such as glass, metals, and gases. We punished the Raid Canopy with a temperature test, which saw it exposed to temperatures of 50 degrees Celsius down to minus 30.
At both extremes the Raid Canopy was tested for distortion and malfunction. With a layer of ice covering all components, all locks, latches and gas struts performed faultlessly. Great to know, you can still access your canopy in the snow!
Corrugation & impact test
You need to have confidence that during any sharp impacts as well as long exposure to rough outback corrugations that your Canopy is going to stay in shape and hold on to your bolted down accessories.
To achieve this, we put the Raid Canopy through 1.6 million cycles over 16 hours at forces of up to 4G, all while carrying a roof load in excess of 160kg.
This testing was completed with our tub strengthening bracket in place to also ensure the longevity of the canopy.

Load & pull test
The IRONMAN 4X4 Raid Canopy is rated to a stunning 180kg of dynamic load and 350kg of static load. But just to be sure, we loaded 2,000kg on the roof and saw the canopy hold its shape.
We then pulled an upward force of 1400kg from the roof for 10 minutes to ensure any suspended weight and shift of inertia would not unsettle the structural integrity.
